Therapist | Self-Esteem | Christian Counseling

Between overworking, limited social time, and dwindling family interactions, many people find themselves constantly thinking about what’s next—without ever feeling fully present. We get so caught up in the future that we forget to enjoy the life we’re living right now.

But the truth is: living your best life doesn’t start later. It starts here.

Reaching out to a therapist you’ve never met can feel intimidating, even uncomfortable. But it can also be the first step toward healing, growth, and reconnecting with your true self.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Sheila Nelson walks alongside clients with empathy, respect, and a deep belief in their potential. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, grief, self-doubt, or relationship concerns, she offers a supportive, person-centered environment where you can explore your challenges and begin to thrive.

Sheila blends evidence-based techniques with genuine connection, using an integrated approach rooted in person-centered therapy. She offers a balance of acceptance and growth, helping clients understand that self-love and self-care are the foundations for building healthy relationships and meaningful lives.

She works with teens and adults, guiding them to recognize their worth, discover their strengths, and embrace their value—especially in seasons of transition or emotional difficulty.

Sheila has extensive experience working with adolescents, helping them build a strong foundation of confidence and identity. She encourages teens to understand their weaknesses with grace and embrace their strengths with confidence, creating a path toward healthier self-perception and emotional resilience.

Outside the office:
Sheila has been married to her high school sweetheart for over 40 years. Together they raised two incredible children—now grown—who she considers her best friends. She and her husband are now joyful empty nesters and grandparents to two of the greatest joys of their lives: their grandsons.

In her free time, Sheila enjoys reading (especially legal thrillers and biographies), watching cooking competitions, traveling, and dreaming of a future vacation to Africa. She also loves learning new things—including her latest adventure: playing pickleball with her husband and son.
