Maham Rathi, Counseling Intern
Hello, my name is Maham Rathi. I am currently completing my practicum in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Walden University, as part of my path to becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). This practicum marks a vital step in my training, and I am honored to begin supporting clients on their healing journey.
Before beginning my graduate work, I served as both a teacher and as a mental health worker in a psychiatric facility. These experiences deepened my understanding of the wide range of emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges that individuals can face. They also sparked a passion for providing empathetic, client-centered care in a space where people feel safe, seen, and supported.
In my work, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychotherapy, and narrative therapy techniques. I believe in meeting clients where they are and helping them explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences with curiosity and self-compassion. My goal is to support individuals in reframing their stories, building healthy coping strategies, and making meaningful changes in their lives.
I was drawn to this field out of a heartfelt desire to walk alongside others during life’s challenges and transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and empowering, and I am committed to helping each client feel truly heard and understood.
Maham provides counseling services under the supervision of a licensed clinician as she completes her practicum and internship requirements.
