Joyce Foreman, LCSW-S

Therapist | Whole-Person Support for Life’s Transitions

Joyce Foreman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over three decades of experience in the behavioral health and medical field. She received her Bachelor of Social Work from Lamar University and her Master of Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. Throughout her career, she has worked in a wide range of clinical settings including community mental health centers, psychiatric hospitals, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs, integrated care clinics, and private practice. Her broad experience has equipped her to work with children, adolescents, and adults across diverse life stages.

She is also passionate about supporting the social work profession and has served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) in both Northeast and Southeast Texas. In addition, Joyce provides supervision and consultation to emerging professionals in the field.

Mental Health Counseling Approach

Joyce believes in a “whole person” model of care that considers the interconnection of where we live, work, and play—and how our relationships impact our emotional and physical well-being. Her sessions focus on restoring balance and building coping strategies to meet the demands of life’s inevitable transitions.

Change is a constant in life—whether it’s moving, graduating, starting or ending a relationship, or dealing with health shifts. Joyce understands how these moments, even the joyful ones, can trigger emotional stress. She provides clients with a safe space to process these changes, reduce anxiety and depression, and develop new perspectives and habits for daily life.

Her therapeutic style is warm, supportive, and customized to each individual’s needs. She integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and psychodynamic techniques, along with stress-reduction practices such as mindfulness, breathwork, and present-moment awareness. Clients can expect a collaborative process that promotes self-understanding, confidence, and meaningful change.

Above all, Joyce considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they work through life’s challenges. Her passion for helping others has remained just as strong today as when she first entered the profession more than 30 years ago.

"Through therapy, you can find balance, healing, and hope."

Joyce offers a calming and grounded presence, helping her clients rediscover emotional wellness and develop tools that last a lifetime.

Outside the Office

Joyce finds joy in the simple pleasures of life—spending time with loved ones, exploring nature, and walking the beach with her dog. She’s a devoted reader who never travels without a book in hand—especially enjoying biographies, memoirs, mysteries, and thrillers. Her personal interests reflect her therapeutic philosophy: lifelong learning, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for nature. She’s currently exploring the healing power of the outdoors and the mind-body connection, as well as the quirky world of trivia and local history. Her recent goal is to travel more and fully embrace life’s experiences.
