John Randall, LPC
Therapist | Honest, grounded support | First responders
John Randall is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas with a straightforward, honest, and compassionate approach to therapy. With over three decades of experience in the Fire Service, Army, and Air Force National Guard, John brings a deep understanding of the unique mental health challenges faced by first responders, military personnel, and those in high-stress service roles. His clients often find comfort in working with someone who truly “gets it”—someone who has walked in their boots and understands their language.
John specializes in trauma, anxiety, and depression and has a particular interest in supporting individuals in substance use recovery. His years of leadership in uniform—including roles as First Sergeant and Human Resource Advisor—have shaped his ability to connect, lead, and listen with purpose.
Therapy Approach
John’s approach to counseling is grounded in honest reflection, active listening, and practical insight. In a world filled with noise, confusion, and misinformation, he believes clients long for someone to look them in the eye and tell the truth. His sessions are a space where clients can cut through the clutter, examine their lives openly, and rediscover their internal strength and clarity.
Whether working with someone new to therapy or someone in long-term recovery, John uses tailored treatment plans that can be realistically integrated into daily life. He draws on his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Bachelor’s in Psychology, as well as lived experience, to bridge the gap between where clients are and where they want to be.
John has a special passion for working with:
First responders and military members transitioning out of service
Individuals navigating PTSD and cumulative stress
Men struggling with emotional isolation or pressure to perform
Clients in addiction recovery looking to rebuild their lives
Outside the Office
A lifelong artist, John enjoys drawing, painting, and creative writing. He finds peace in music and often spends his downtime picking on the guitar and banjo. A self-proclaimed “worker,” you’ll rarely find him sitting still—he’s usually outside working on his lawn or restoring old tools and antiques in his shop. His creativity and drive extend into everything he does.
