Counseling Intern | Teens, Athletes & Family Support
"Growth happens when people feel supported, challenged, and empowered to become their best selves."
Veronica Lockett is a Counselor Intern who brings her experience as a middle school physical education teacher and basketball coach into the counseling profession. She is passionate about helping adolescents, athletes, couples, and families navigate life's challenges while building confidence, resilience, and healthy relationships.
Through her work in education and coaching, Veronica has developed a deep appreciation for the emotional, social, and personal challenges young people face. She understands the pressures that can come from academics, athletics, relationships, family expectations, and life transitions and strives to create a supportive environment where clients feel safe being themselves.
Veronica's counseling style is warm, encouraging, and collaborative. She believes meaningful growth happens when clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to actively participate in their healing journey. Her goal is to create a nonjudgmental space where clients can explore challenges, identify strengths, and develop practical tools for moving forward.
Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Client-Centered Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, Veronica helps clients better understand their experiences, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and build healthier ways of coping with life's obstacles. She believes that every person has a unique story and that healing often begins when we learn to see ourselves with greater compassion and understanding.
