Therapist | Child, Teen & Family Specialist
Life changes constantly—sometimes so fast that it feels impossible to keep up. You may be doing your best to “go with the flow,” but still feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of how to cope. If that’s you, you're not alone.
Many people experience emotional distress without the tools to manage it in healthy ways. Without positive coping skills, harmful behaviors like addiction, isolation, or anger can begin to take root.
Seeking mental health support isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s a powerful act of strength. Whether you're struggling with stress, trauma, family conflict, or emotional pain, Sonya Landry creates a compassionate, nonjudgmental space to help you face challenges and build the life you want. Her approach is practical, empowering, and deeply rooted in helping clients—especially children, adolescents, and families—develop the emotional tools they need to thrive.
Through therapy, Sonya helps clients improve self-worth, reduce distress, and discover better ways to respond to life's struggles. Her goal is to guide children, teens, and adults toward positive behavior change, stronger relationships, and healthier decision-making.
Sonya uses a client-centered, integrative approach that includes:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Solution-Focused Therapy
Play Therapy
Behavioral Interventions
With over 20 years of experience, Sonya has supported clients in diverse settings—from correctional facilities to church-based counseling groups. Her journey began shortly after graduating from Prairie View A&M University, where she worked to help incarcerated youth reenter society with confidence and structure.
For the past decade, Sonya has worked in private practice with children, teens, and families. Her passion lies in helping people from all walks of life make meaningful changes in their mental and emotional health.
