Sonya Landry, LPC-S

Therapist | Child, Teen & Family Specialist | Building Stronger Families and Healthier Futures

"Seeking help is not a sign of weakness—it is often the first step toward strength, healing, and growth."

Parenting isn't easy. Growing up isn't easy. Family relationships aren't always easy.

When children, teens, or families are struggling, it can feel overwhelming trying to figure out what to do next. Whether you're facing behavioral concerns, emotional struggles, family conflict, anxiety, trauma, or major life changes, having the right support can make all the difference.

With more than 20 years of counseling experience, Sonya Landry, LPC-S, has dedicated her career to helping children, adolescents, adults, and families navigate life's challenges while building the skills needed for long-term success. She believes that every person has the capacity for growth and that meaningful change begins with understanding, support, and practical tools.

Sonya works with children, tweens, teens, adults, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, behavioral concerns, family conflict, and emotional challenges. She is especially passionate about helping young people develop healthy coping skills, improve self-confidence, strengthen emotional regulation, and build healthier relationships with those around them.

Her counseling style is warm, practical, and empowering. Sonya creates a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe exploring difficult emotions, developing new perspectives, and creating positive change. She understands that every individual and family has unique strengths and challenges, and she tailors treatment to meet each client's specific needs and goals.

Throughout her career, Sonya has worked in a variety of settings, including correctional programs, church-based counseling groups, and private practice. Early in her career, she helped incarcerated youth successfully transition back into their communities, giving her valuable insight into resilience, behavior change, and the importance of support systems. For the past decade, she has focused her work on helping children, adolescents, and families thrive through life's challenges.

Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, and behavioral interventions, Sonya helps clients develop practical strategies that can be applied both inside and outside the counseling office. Her goal is to help individuals and families improve communication, strengthen relationships, build confidence, and create healthier patterns for the future.

Outside the Office

Outside of counseling, Sonya enjoys spending time with her family, church community, and close friends. She loves traveling, discovering great food, and shopping—especially when she can share those experiences with the people she loves most. Her strong commitment to relationships, community, and connection is reflected in both her personal life and her work with clients.
