Sheila Nelson, LPC

Therapist | Self-Worth, Confidence & Christian Counseling

"Your value is not determined by your productivity, your past, or other people's opinions of you."

In today's busy world, it's easy to become so focused on what's next that we lose sight of where we are. Between work, family responsibilities, relationship challenges, and the pressures we place on ourselves, many people find themselves feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or questioning their worth.

Sheila Nelson believes healing begins when people reconnect with who they truly are and recognize the value they already possess. She helps teens and adults move beyond self-doubt, anxiety, and emotional struggles so they can build confidence, strengthen relationships, and create a more fulfilling life.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Sheila provides a warm, supportive, and person-centered environment where clients feel accepted, respected, and encouraged. She believes that meaningful change happens when people learn to balance self-acceptance with personal growth and develop a deeper understanding of their strengths, values, and purpose.

Sheila works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, relationship concerns, self-esteem challenges, and life transitions. She is especially passionate about helping clients develop healthy self-worth, improve self-care, and create stronger relationships with themselves and others.

Her counseling style combines genuine compassion with practical support. Sheila helps clients identify limiting beliefs, challenge negative self-perceptions, and develop healthier ways of thinking and relating to themselves. She believes that when people learn to value themselves, they are better equipped to navigate life's challenges and build meaningful connections.

She also has extensive experience working with adolescents and enjoys helping teens build confidence, develop resilience, and establish a healthy sense of identity. Her goal is to help young people understand their strengths, approach their challenges with self-compassion, and grow into confident, capable adults.

For clients seeking faith-based counseling, Sheila thoughtfully integrates Christian principles into the therapeutic process, helping clients explore emotional healing alongside spiritual growth.

Outside the Office

Sheila has been married to her high school sweetheart for more than 40 years. Together they raised two children, who remain among her greatest blessings, and now enjoy life as grandparents to two beloved grandsons.

Outside of counseling, Sheila enjoys reading biographies and legal thrillers, traveling, watching cooking competitions, and spending time with family.
