Joseph Della Rosa is a Student Counselor Intern who brings more than 20 years of leadership, service, and life experience to the counseling profession. As a retired U.S. Coast Guard Lieutenant Commander, Joseph spent his career leading teams, responding to crises, and supporting people through some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Currently pursuing his graduate degree in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling at Lamar University, Joseph is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life's challenges while building resilience, stronger relationships, and greater emotional well-being.
Joseph works with adults, couples, families, veterans, first responders, parents, and individuals facing life transitions, relationship concerns, anxiety, trauma, and personal growth challenges. His unique background gives him a deep appreciation for the pressures people face while balancing responsibilities, relationships, and personal struggles.
His counseling style is calm, supportive, and collaborative. Joseph believes that every person possesses strengths that can be developed and utilized to overcome obstacles and create meaningful change. He strives to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and understood.
