"Healing begins when the body feels safe enough to feel."
Life can be difficult to navigate when anxiety, trauma, stress, or major life changes leave you feeling disconnected from yourself. Sometimes we spend so much energy simply getting through the day that we lose touch with the parts of ourselves that feel calm, confident, and hopeful.
Denise Donahue believes healing begins when people feel safe, supported, and genuinely heard. She creates a warm, nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences while developing the tools needed to create meaningful and lasting change.
Denise works with adults and children experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, women's issues, and life transitions. She is passionate about helping clients understand the connections between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and experiences so they can move forward with greater confidence, self-awareness, and resilience.
Before becoming a therapist, Denise spent more than twenty years as a piano educator. Through her work teaching and mentoring students, she developed a deep appreciation for the growth that occurs when people feel supported, encouraged, and empowered to learn new skills. That passion for helping others grow eventually led her to pursue counseling, where she now combines compassion, patience, and evidence-based practices to support clients on their healing journeys.
Her counseling style is collaborative, encouraging, and grounded in practical strategies that clients can apply in everyday life. Denise helps clients identify strengths, build healthy coping skills, and create positive changes while honoring their unique experiences and personal goals.
Her early clinical experience in community mental health deepened her commitment to providing compassionate care for people from all walks of life. She believes that every person deserves the opportunity to heal, grow, and build a future that feels hopeful and meaningful.
